Title:
HIGH-SPEED TOOL STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5873753
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a high-speed tool steel having superior hardenability and capable of being provided with sufficient hardness even at a low cooling rate by incorporating specified percentages of C, Si, Cr, W, Mo, V, Mn, Ni, Co and N to Fe.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of 0.8W1.3% C, 0.6W2.0% Si, 5.5W8.0% Cr, 12W24% W+2Mo, 0.5W3.5% V, ≤1% Mn, ≤2% Ni, ≤9% Co, ≤0.10% N and the balance Fe with impurities is prepared. The C, Si and Cr contents of the alloy are required to satisfy Cr%≤4+5Si%+4(C%-Ceq) (Ceq=0.24+0.033W%+ 0.063%Mo%+0.2V%). To said composition may be incorporated ≤0.2% B and/ or ≤0.2% in total of one or more among Ti, Nb, Zr, Hf and Al.
