PURPOSE: To mold an ink roller without a process of compression and theeby to reduce the cost thereof, by baking the powder of polycarbonate in a mold.

CONSTITUTION: Polycarbonate powder alone or the mixture of polycarbonate powdr and polyethylene powder in the prescribed ratio is filled up in a mold for an ink roller under no pressure. Next, the mold is set in and baked by a baking furnace. After a prescribed time passes, the mold is taken out and cooled, and the release from the mold is conducted. An ink roller thus obtained can satisfy all the conditions of the hardness of the circumferential surface thereof, the impregnation of a porous material with ink, the smootheness, stiffness and shock resistance of the surface of the roller, the smooth discharge of ink, etc.
