Title:
TRANSMISSION POWER CONTROL SYSTEM OF EARTH STATION FOR SATELLITE COMMUNICATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5884547
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for special equipment at the satellite side, by receiving a fold-returned pilot signal from the satellite and a beacon signal radiated from the satellite, comparing the C/N of the both, and controlling the own transmission power of an earth station.

CONSTITUTION: A reference pilot signal of the SCPC system of an oscillator 20 is mixed with other transmission signals with a combiner 21 and transmitted to a satellite via a gain control amplifier 22, an up-converter 23, a transmission power amplifier 24, and an antenna 1. A pilot signal fold-returned at the satellite and a beacon signal radiated from the satellite are received at a pilot signal reception section 16 and a beacon reception section 13 via a receiver 10, a hybrid 11, and down-converters 14, 12. A comparator 17 compares the C/N or reception power of both the reception signal and controls an amplifier 22 via a control section 18, to control the transmission power from the antenna 1 so as to obtain the same C/N or reception ratio as that at a fine weather.
