PURPOSE: To ladle out the molten metal in a heat holding furnace continuously with simple construction by forming a ladling pipe into an inverted U shape, mounting an outside cylinder which is opened in the bottom part on the suction side thereof and supplying air to the inside of the outside cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A ladling pipe 1 is formed to an approximately inverted U shape, and an outside cylinder 2 which is opened in the bottom part is mounted to a suction side 1a. The upper part of the cylinder 2 is closed by a top plate 3 and is welded to the suction side 1a of the pipe 1. When the cylinder 2 is put into a heat holding furnace A, the remaining melt B enters the inside of the cylinder 2 and the inside on the suction side 1a of the pipe 1 up to the same level as that of the remaining melt B in the furnace A, by which an air chamber (a) is formed in the upper part of the outside cylinder. When air is supplied into the chamber (a) through an air supply pipe 4, the melt surface in the cylinder 2 is pushed toward the low part 2a and the remaining melt B in the cylinder 2 is supplied through the suction port 1'a of the pipe 1 to the suction side 1a. When the melt B flows to the discharge side 1b by passing over the peak part of the pipe 1, the supply of the air is stopped and thereafter the melt B is ladled out continuously by a siphon effect.
