Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable electrification control of a large number of heaters by a few relays, by a method wherein an electric heater, to be provided on an end face of a filter component, for incineration of collected substance is divided into a plurality of pieces so that each of the heaters is not connected with the same feed side and earth side conduction wires. CONSTITUTION:A heater for burning of collected particulate at the time of loading of meshes of a filter provided on an end face of an upstream side of a filter component collecting the particulate, such as a carbon particle in exhaust consists of nine pieces of heaters 1a-1j provided so as to cover the whole of the end face of the filter component 2. As for these heaters 1a-1j, regarding a heater whose one end is connected with the same feed side conduction wires 92a-92c, the other end is connected with earth side conduction wires 92d-92f which are different from each other and each of the conduction wires 92a-92c and 92d-92f is connected with a battery 9 and an earth line E through relays 8a-8c and 8d-8f respectively. Then, each of the relays 8a-8f is controlled by a controller 7 so as to close them in turn in a given combination.
