Abstract:
The presence of an aliphatic, substantially non-telogenic carboxylic acid having a - logK between 1.5 and 6.0 in the aqueous dispersion polymerization mixture during the polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene in the presence of an anionic fluorinated carboxylate dispersing agent and an ionic initiator has been found to reduce the amount of coagulum formed during the polymerization.
