Abstract:
PURPOSE:To surely feed and drain a lubricating oil to and from a space as tube seals are remain expanded, by injecting oil into the space defined by the tube seals while discharging gas through an oil drain pipe. CONSTITUTION:Tube seals 4, 5 are provided at an appropriate vertical distance from each other on the peripheral surface of a rotary plug 2. A space 11 is defined by the tube seals 4, 5 between the rotary plug 2 and a seal fixation rest 6. A lubricating oil is injected under pressure into the space 11 through an oil feed pipe 14 while gas is discharged from the space through an oil drain pipe 37 connected to the top of the space. The lubricating oil is drained under pressure from the space 11 through oil drain pipes 38, 42 connected to the space while the gas is supplied into the space through the oil feed pipe 14. The lubricating oil is thus fed or drained as the tube seals 4, 5 remain expanded.
