PURPOSE: To automatically operate a folder and to simplify a work by disposing longitudinally twice-folding mechanisms for double-width running sheet on the upper side of an inverted triangle and for a pair of 1/2 double-width running sheets on the lower portions thereof, and mounting a knife just above the folding mechanisms to eliminate the need of a putting aside turn bar.

CONSTITUTION: Three sheets of double-width running sheets W are led into a double-width drag roll 48 only through adjust rolls 41, 43, 45 and all at one cut in two equal parts of 1/2 double-width by a slitter knife 49. Subsequently, six running sheets are stacked by a double-width former 47. In case of making a 12-page newspaper, the running sheets are distributed to right and left sides three by three, conducted to right and left 1/2 double-width drag rolls 53, longitudinally twice-folded to 1/4 double-width through a pair of right and left formers 52, and right and left pairs of a forming roll and a nipping roll, further laterally twice-folded through a pair of right and left folding cylinders 59 and sawtooth cylinders 60 and right and left pairs of forming rolls 61, 61. The thus folded sheet is discharged as a 12-page newpaper through each fan 62 and a conveyer 63 without a turn bar.
