Abstract:
PURPOSE:To process the outer and inner surfaces of a long-sized metallic pipe into the prescribed shapes by advancing the pipe with the aid of the rotating force of rolling rolls, by revolving and rotating the rolling rolls which press the outer circumference of the pipe in correspondence with a processing part of a mandrel in the inside of the pipe. CONSTITUTION:A mandrel 9 is inserted into a metallic pipe 6 which is also inserted into the center of three rolling rolls 7. Then, a rolling-rolls bearing body 3 is rotated through a belt 5 and a belt wheel 4 to revolve the rolls 7 around the pipe 6. Further, an inner ring gear 11 is rotated through a belt 13 and a belt wheel 14 to rotate the rolls 7 around their own axes. At this time, the pipe 6 is advanced by the component of frictional force, in the direction of the axial line of the pipe 6, caused by press-contact of the rolls 7 with the pipe 6, because each roll 7 is arranged slantingly at an angle theta1 to said axial line. Then, the inner surface of the pipe 6 is processed by the mandrel 9, and the outer surface of it by the rolls 7, respectively, when the mandrel 9 reaches the position where the mandrel 9 opposes to the rolls 7.
