Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity and durability by laminating a specified polyimidooxazole layer as a protective layer on a photoconductive layer formed on a conductive substrate.

CONSTITUTION: A protective layer made of polyimidooxazole having repeating units repreated by the formula is laminated on a photoconductive layer formed on a conductive substrate. In the formula, R is a bivalent organic residue, embodied by alkylene, such as methylene, ethylene, propylene, or butylene, and arylene, such as phenylene, naphthylene, and biphenylene, and bivalent groups derived from heterocyclic compds., such as pyridine, quinoline, carbazole, phenothiazine, and phenoxazine.
