Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an anode for electrolyzing water having low oxygen overvoltage and durability by depositing a noble metal such as Re, Rh or Ir on a layer and particles of Ni, Co or Ag. CONSTITUTION:A metallic layer 2 of one or more among Ni, Co and Ag is formed on a core 1 for an electrode so that particles 3 of one or more among Ni, Co and Ag are prtially exposed. Re or one or more noble metals 4 among Re, Rh and Ir are deposited on the surface of the layer 2 of the resulting porous substrate. This anode has low oxygen overvoltage and durability.
