Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the grade of Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, etc. incorporated into matte of zinc, copper, etc. and to improve yield by adding sulfuric acid having a specific concn. to the matte and eluting and removing the iron-component, zinc- component, etc. incorporated into the matte. CONSTITUTION:H2SO4 having about 12-7N concn. is added to matte such as zinc matte and copper matte at about 1.5 equi. by the content of Fe an Zn incorporated into the matte. The iron-component and zinc component incorporated into the matte are thus eluted and removed and the grade of Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, etc. incorporated into the matte is improved by about three times to improve the actual yield of these components in the succeeding refining stage. The Cu, Pb, Ag, etc. dissolved in the matte can be recovered in the form of sulfide by the H2S generated by the decomposition of FbS in the above-mentioned iron component; moreover the acid compd. is made into silicic acid contg. moisture at the decreased rate rate, by which the filterability is improved. The FeSO4 soln. obtd. by elution of the iron-component is further subjected to adjustment of pH and air oxidation, by which yellow iron oxide or magnetic iron oxide is formed and recovered.
