Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6133880
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
1447097 Stabilizing phosphosulphurized polyolefins STANDARD OIL CO 12 Oct 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 47819/73 Heading C3P [Also in Divisions C5 and C2] A composition suitable for use as an additive for an oily lubricant (see Division C5) comprises a phosphosulphurized hydrocarbon and a m nor amount of a 2,5-bis-(alkyl-dithio)1,3,4-thiadiazole. The thiadiazole derivative serves to improve the stability and reduce the odour of the phosphosulphurized hydrocarbon. The preferred phosphosulphurized hydrocarbons are derived from viscous polymers of propene or butene which have molecular weights of 200- 4000 and weight ratios S : P of 1 to 3. Preferred thiadiazole derivatives are those in which the alkyl group has eight or more carbon atoms, particularly those in which it is octyl or dodecyl.
