Abstract:
PURPOSE:To fractionally recover valuable metals such as Mo, U and V with high efficiency, by leaching a material containing all of Mo, U and V with hydrochloric acid, and separating U as its chloride from the material at first, Mo as its sulfide in the next and V as its hydroxide finally. CONSTITUTION:A material containing all of Mo, U and V is leached with hydrochloric acid and filtered. The filtrate is oxidized by addition of an oxidizing agent and pH-adjusted. This liquid is heated, agitated and cooled to precipitate U. The U precipitate is dissolved by hydrochloric acid and pH-adjusted by addition of alkali. The precipitate is filtered, and U is recovered as its chloride (oxide). After the filtration of U, the filtrate is adjusted at pH 9-10 by addition of calcium hydroxide, to form the next precipitate. A sulfurizing agent is then added to and reacted with the filtrate to precipitate Mo as its sulfide. The Mo sulfide precipitate is separated and recovered. In succession, the filtrate is further adjusted at pH 9-10 by addition of alkali to precipitate V as its hydroxide and the remaining Mo part.
