Abstract:
PURPOSE:To mix granular substances effectively and uniformly without causing damage to them having different qualities and sispersed grain sizes by using an apparatus in which a specific shape of tanks the bottom of which is divided into plural sections and provided with movable gates are superposed in a two-staged manner. CONSTITUTION:A mixer for granular substances consists of the first tank 11 and the second tank 12, each of which is divided by the partition plates 13 and 13 and the bottom of which is provided with the gates 15 and 16. The gates 15 and 16 are closed, a given amount of granular substance is charged into the first tank 11, and then the gate 15 of the first tank 11 is opened at such a speed that the disintegration angle of falling granular substance is approx. 5-15 deg., whereupon the granular substances fall down in the order of the sections D1, C1, B1, and A1 because the opened line 17 of the gate 15 is inclined at an inclined angle R 45-80 deg.. Then, the gate 16 of the second tank 12 is opened and the granular substance is dropped in order from right below the rear end of the section D1 (right below the tip end of the section A1) in the first tank 11, assuring the effective and uniform mixing of granular substance.
