Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a pickup corresponding to one picture element by one light-receiving section, and to improve resolution by extending channel stopper regions along sides in the same direction of each light-receiving section and arranging storage electrodes extending from upper layer or lower layer electrodes between both regions. CONSTITUTION:The light-receiving sections P... consisting of N<-> type regions and storage regions 8 connected to the light-receiving sections (P) and formed integrally at positions of a semiconductor substrate 1 partitioned in squares by each wide section 2'... in the channel stopper regions 2 and hook-shaped auxiliary channel stopper regions 21 extending from the wide sections 2'..., and the storage electrodes 61... extended from the upper layer electrodes 6 are arranged on the storage regions 8 positioned among the light-receiving sections P... and the auxiliary channel stopper regions 21... through an insulating film 4. That is, each light-receiving section P... is formed at the positions of incident windows consisting of clearances among the upper layer electrodes 6... and the storage electrodes 61 from the electrodes 6 and the lower layer electrodes 5.... On the other hand, lower one sides of the light-receiving sections P are in contact with gate regions 7 consisting of P<-> type regions formed at the upper side positions of the lower layer electrodes 5....
