Abstract:
A method of transversely cutting a continuously produced band of laminate, consisting of three layers, a hard outer layer, a softfoam core and a third flexible outer layer, with grooves or flanges formed along the lateral edges from the bent-over hard layer, is as follows. Starting from the flexible slid, two partial cuts are made transversely to the longitudinal axis, through the flexible layer and through the core; the lateral edges of the hard, rigid layer are then cut through, starting inside them and working outwards in a pivotal movement, and then the remaining part of this hard layer is cut through in a further operation.
