Abstract:
PURPOSE:To take out the titled substance from the top of a distilling column and recover and circulate anthraquinone form the bottoms, by melting crude anthraquinone at a specific temperature below a temperature at which the thermal polycondensation thereof becomes remarkable, and feeding the resultant melt to the distlling column, and distilling the melt at the temperature under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:Crude anthraquinone is molten in a melter 1 295-320 deg.C, and led to a distilling column 2 and distilled at a vacuum degree of 140-150 Torr while keeping the composition in the still pot at an anthraquinone content of 75-85%. An anthraquinone vapor is taken out of a pipe 14, condensed in a condenser 4, collected in a storage tank 15 and then partially refluxed to the distilling column 2. The liquid in the still pot of the distilling column 2 is taken out, partially passed through a boiler 3 and circulated through the distilling column 2. The rest is led to a storage tank 7 and then heated in a recovering vessel 8 to generate the anthraquinone vapor, which is then taken out of a pipe 23. The vapor is then cooled, collected in a condenser 9, molten under heating, recovered in a storage tank 10 and circulated through the melter 1.
