Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS631239
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mast foot (1) for windsurfing boards (2). The universal joint (4), which connects the mast (6) to the windsurfing board (2) via the mast foot (1), is fastened to a centre pin (7) of a bearing device (3). The bearing device (3) is firmly connected or can be firmly connected to the windsurfing board (2). The centre pin (7) can be moved relatively upwards together with the universal joint (4) essentially perpendicularly to the deck surface of the windsurfing board (2) relative to the rest of the bearing device (3) against the force of a spring (21). The spring (21) can be adjusted in its force exerted against an upward movement of the centre pin (7). Due to this arrangement, in the event of a part of the body getting caught between the folded mast (6) and the deck surface of the windsurfing board (2), the entire mast foot (1) is no longer released from the windsurfing board, but the fixed connection is retained and the distance between deck surface and mast (6) is increased merely by upwards movement of the centre pin (7) against the spring (21). In this way, injuries due to a part of the body catching are impossible.
