Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the performance of disc cash, by switching the operating mode of disc cash every region on a disc and enabling to control the disc cash according to the file architecture and application. CONSTITUTION:Data transmission is made among a channel interface circuit 1, a small capacity of buffer circuit 2, device interface circuit 3 and a cash memory 7. Further, when data are in the memory 7 with the read-in instruction, data are fed from the memory 7 via the circuit 1 and if absent in the memory 7, read-in instruction is given to the disc via the circuit 3 and the data from the disc is fed to the circuit 2 via the circuit 3, and the output of the circuit 2 is transferred via the circuit 1. These controls are made with the controls of a control memory 4, control circuit 5 and read only memory 6. The control memory 4 is located with the directory table for cash and various control tables, and the mode table displaying the operating mode every region of the disc is provided.
