Abstract:
A billet shearing machine has an upper blade holder (5) which receives a replaceable shear blade (10), and a lower blade holder (3) which receives a replaceable shear blade (11). The upper holder (5) is movable downwardly from its retracted position towards the lower blade holder (3) by a driving device (2, 4) to carry out a shearing action. A blade-exchange device (6) is arranged in the machine for movement relative to the upper blade holder (5) to effect transfer of a replacement blade to the upper blade holder, and a guide table (14) is provided for the supply of replacement blades to the blade holders (3 and 5), which is mounted on the machine for movement between an inclined position and a substantially horizontal blade-supply position.
