Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a control device for secondary air supply to an engine in a small size, by allowing a single air control valve with air supply passage to perform supply of the secondary air to the suction pipe when cranking etc. is made during deceleration. CONSTITUTION:A shot-air valve device 10 is a controller to open No.1 neg. pressure passage 8 of an air control valve 5, and a neg. pressure chamber 12 of this device is in communication with the suction pipe 3 through a neg. pressure passage 14 for control in which an engine coolant temp. valve 13 is interposed. When the suction pipe neg. pressure is introduced to the neg. pressure chamber 12 through said passage 14, an opening/closing valve element 17 for No.1 neg. pressure passage 8 coupled with a diaphragm 16 will be opened for a certain short period of time which is determined from the capacity of neg. pressure chamber 12 and an orifice 15 formed at the neg. pressure chamber 12. During deceleration the increased neg. pressure in the suction pipe 3 is introduced to the neg. pressure chamber 12, and the above-mentioned air control valve 5 is opened for a short while to supply the shot air to the suction pipe 3, so as to prevent after-burning.
