Abstract:
PURPOSE:To convert the image of a rectangular original to an annularly developed printing plate with good accuracy by reading the image of the rectangular original as a digital picture element signal and converting the signal to the image signal of the annular coordinates having the same area by a computer. CONSTITUTION:The annularly developed printing layer is required to be formed to a flat plate-shaped metallic blank material in the case of forming a printed drawn molding 1 having the rectangular printing layer 4 from said metallic blank material. The image of the rectangular original is thereupon inputted as the digital image signal by using an input scanning mechanism 17 to a computer 18 for photoengraving. The image signal is inputted to a computer 22 for deformation processing which converts the rectangular coordinates to the annular coordinates having the same area as said coordinates. The picture image signal on the converted coordinates is again inputted to the computer 18. The computer reads the coordinates and forms the printing plate. The conversion of the image of the rectangular original to the annularly developed printing layer with good accuracy is thus made possible.
