本発明者らは生理的分子である可溶性Aβモノマーを認識せず、可溶性Aβオリゴマーのみに特異的なモノクローナル抗体を作製することに成功し、当該抗体がアルツハイマー病に対する診断・治療用モノクローナル抗体として有用であることを見出した。
