ガラス溶解炉の炉内側に、複数個のケイ石レンガをヴォールト形状となるように整列、配置してなる耐食層（２）と、該耐食層（２）の上に形成された、シリカ質焼結体を有するシリカ質断熱層（３）と、このシリカ質断熱層（３）の上に形成され、２層以上で構成される軽量断熱層（４）と、を有し、軽量断熱層（４）は、少なくともシリカ質断熱層（３）と接する層が、複数個の断熱ブロックと、該断熱ブロック間の目地部に設けられた軽量断熱不定形耐火物と、からなる層構造である大迫天井構造（１）。
