Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide thermally expandable microspheres that have good expandability and exhibit a degree of biodegradability, and to provide a use therefor. Provided are thermally expandable microspheres comprising: an outer shell that comprises a thermoplastic resin; and a blowing agent that is encapsulated by the outer shell and foams as a result of being heated, wherein the biodegradation (De1) over five days measured in accordance with JISK6950:2000 exceeds 0%. The thermoplastic resin is a polymer of a polymerizable component comprising a monomer (A), and the monomer (A) preferably has one polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond, and has an ester bond and/or an ether bond.
