Abstract:
An encoder−equipped sealing device (1) characterized in that two seal members (5, 15) having reinforcing rings (4, 14) of L−shaped cross section composed of cylindrical portions (2, 12) and flanges (3, 13) extending from the end of one of the cylindrical portions (2, 12) in a direction perpendicular to the cylindrical portions (2, 12) are combined in opposed relation to each other, the seal member (15) containing an elastic seal (6) that is supported by the reinforcing ring (14) thereof and extends to the other seal member (5) to form seal portions (7, 8, 9) between the elastic seal (6) and the seal member (5), with an encoder (10) attached to that surface of the flange (3) of the seal member (5) which is not opposed to the other seal member (15), and an elastic body (16) supported by the flange (13) of the seal member (15) is formed on that surface of the flange (14) in the other seal member (15) which is not opposed to the seal member (5).
