Abstract:
Disclosed is an aligned single-walled carbon nanotube (CNT) assembly or the like, which can be produced easily and has a high specific surface area. The aligned single-walled CNT assembly or the like has formability, since each single carbon nanotube is aligned in a regular direction with a low bulk density in the single-walled CNT assembly or the like.
Specifically disclosed is an aligned single-walled CNT assembly, which comprises a substrate, catalyst fine particles provided on the substrate at a number density of from 1 × 1010 to 5 × 1013 particles/cm2, and a plurality of single-walled CNTs grown from the catalyst fine particles. The plurality of single-walled CNTs has a specific surface area of 600-2600 m2/g and a weight density of 0.002-0.2 g/cm3, and the degree of alignment of the single-walled CNTs can be defined by specific conditions.
