PURPOSE: To provide the subject nonflammable composition suitable as an alternate CFC or a cleansing solvent by comprising 1-chloro-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropane and 1,2-dichloro-1,1-difluoroethane.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprises 18-58wt.%, especially preferably 38wt.%, of 1-chloro-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropane and 42-82wt.%, especially preferably 62wt.% of 1,2-dichloro-1,1-difluoroethane. The composition is nonflammable, has the same or more excellent characteristics as or than those of the conventional CFCs, does not cause the change of the composition thereof on the recyclization because of having an azeotropic point and can be used in the same manner as single of the conventional CFCs. The composition has a higher dissolving power than the conventional 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane especially when used as a solvent, thereby being suitable as a substitute for the CFCs.
