Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula.
USE: A synthetic oil useful as an insulating oil for a condenser having a superior dielectric constant. The compound expressed by the formula causes no environmental pollution due to the good biodegradability thereof.
PROCESS: 1,2-Diphenylethane is reacted with 3,3,3-trifluoropropene in the presence of an acid catalyst, e.g. HF, BF3 or HF-BF3, to give the compound of the formula. In a batch method, the raw material compounds and the catalyst are fed into an autoclave made of stainless steel and reacted at 0W150°C for 1W30hr.
