Abstract:

This invention relates to novel compounds of the formula I wherein m and n are each independently 0, 1 or 2 and m + n is 1 or 2, X and Y are each independently hydrogen, loweralkyl or halogen and RS is methyl or benzyl, which are useful as intermediates for the preparation of 11-substituted 5H,11H-pyrrolo [2,1-c] [1,4] benzoxazepines of the formula II The compounds of formula II exhibit antipsychotic and analgesic activities and can, therefore, be used as medicaments.
