NEW MATERIAL:1,2-Dihydronaphthalene derivatives expressed by formula I [R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, halo lower alkyl, -(CH2)mO2R3, -(CH2)mCONR3R4 (R3 and R4 are H or alkyl; m is 0 or 1), -(CH2)nNR3R4 (n is 1 or 2) or -(CH2)nOR3 (the wedge line and the broken lines indicate that the substitutent groups at the 1- and 2-positions are mutually in the trans-configuration; R1 and R2 are not methyl at the same time)] and salts thereof.
EXAMPLE: 2,3-Diethyl-1,2-dihydro-5,7,8-trimethoxy-1-(2,4,5-trimet-hoxyphenyl)naph thalene.
USE: An immunological enhancer having effects similar to those of well-known magnoshinin (R1 and R2 are methyl).
PREPARATION: For example, a compound expressed by formula II (R1' and R2' have the same meaning as that of R1 and R2) is treated with an acid to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula III which is one of the compounds expressed by formula I.
