PURPOSE: To obtain fluorinated hydrocarbon based azeotropic and azeotropic-like composition consisting of the title compound and 1,2-dichloro-1,1-difluoroethane and usable as a substitute for fluorocarbon and simultaneously having excellent characteristics as a solvent, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The above-mentioned composition obtained by using (A) 1,3- dichloro-1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoropropane and (B) 1,2-dichloro-1,1-difluoroethane as essential components and blending the component (A) with the component B at the azeotropic ratio of 19-59wt.% component A and 41-81wt.% component B, preferably 29-49wt.% component A and 57-71wt.% component B, especially 39wt.% component A and 61wt.% component B and being incombustible and having excellent characteristics which are equivalent or above to that of a conventional fluorocarbons and simultaneously free from variation of composition during recycle because of presence of azeotropic point, usable in same same manner as a conventional single fluorocarbon and suitable as a substitute for a conventional CCl2FCClF2, because the aimed composition has higher cleaning power than that of the above-mentioned conventional single CCl2FCClF2, especially as a cleaning solvent.
