Abstract:
This invention relates to a compound lathe with oppositely disposed dual spindles, wherein tool carriers are provided above and below the spindle axis; a lathe bed has a upper surface in the horizontal direction and a front surface in the vertical direction; spindle boxes fixed to the lathe bed are fixed to the front surface in the vertical direction of the lathe bed; a left/right moving seat for moving the spindle box and lower tool carrier can be guidingly moved by the left/right guiding member fixed to the front surface in the vertical direction of the lathe bed; a up/down guiding member of the lower tool carrier guided in up/down direction is fixed to the front surface in the vertical direction of the underside z-axis moving seat; the spindle box fixed to the lathe bed are fixed to the front surface of the lathe bed at the lower end of the back and the middle position in height direction of the back; and a space if formed between theback side of the lower part of the spindle box and the front surface of the lathe bed, and the left/right guiding member and a guiding screw pass through the space.
