Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (X is halogen; R is H, lower alkyl) and their pharmacologically permissible acid-adduct salts.
EXAMPLE: 2-Aminomethyl-4-phenyl-6-iodophenol.
USE: Expected as medicines, because of promoting biosynthesis of prostaglandine from arachidonic acid.
PREPARATION: The reaction between a compound of formula II resulting from the halogenation of 4-phenylphenol and another compound of formula III (R' is alkyl, haloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl), or the reaction between 4-phenylphenol and a compound of formula III, followed by halogenation to give a compound of formula IV, from which R'CO is eliminated, thus giving the objective compound of formula I.
