Abstract:

To provide a friction stir jointing device in which a two-axis drive unit, having a compact configuration and capable of driving two axes for a long period of service life, is used in a drive system.

Ball-screw integrated linear guide units 10A, 10B are respectively configured as a mechanical part in which a ball screw 12 and a linear guide bearing 11 are integrated with each other by directly forming a ball-screw nut 17, being an element of the ball screw 12, on a slider 14 being an element of the linear guide bearing 11. A two-axis drive unit 5 has the following configuration. The two ball-screw integrated linear guide units 10A, 10B are combined with each other such that the sliders 14 of the respective units 10A, 10B are combined with each other by jointing mutual flanges 14a to each other so as to make the guide directions of the linear guide bearings 11 of the respective units 10A, 10B become two mutually intersecting axes.
