NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I [Rl is benzyl which may be replaced with halogen ; R2 is -NR3R4 (R3 and R4 are alkyl or lower alkenyl), pyrrolidyl, piperidyl, tetrahydroazevinyl, piperidyl which may be replaced with lower alkyl or benzyl, morpholyinyl, etc.; n is 1-3] and a salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: (E)-1-Benzyl-3-(2-oxopropylidene)-4-phenyl-azetidinone.
USE: An inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation having extremely weak hemorrhagic tendency as a side effect.
PREPARATION: A compound shown by formula II is reacted with a compound shown by formula III in an inert solvent such as methanol, THF or benzene in the presence of a catalyst (e. g., inorganic acid, organic acid or amine) at room temperature-reflux temperature of the solvent to give a compound shown by formula I.
