Abstract:
To provide a compound useful as an antioxidant for the copper surface, a curing agent for epoxy resin or an intermediate for medicine and agrochemical.
The 2-benzyl-4-(4-alkylphenyl)imidazole compound is represented by formula (I) (wherein R is a 4-8C linear or branched alkyl). The compound is synthesized by making a 4'-alkyl-2-halogenated acetophenone react with phenyl acetamidine or its salt in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent.
