Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl or lower alkenyl; R3 is H or lower alkyl; R4 is lower alkyl; R5 is H or halogen).
EXAMPLE: 5-(1,3-Dimethylpyrazol-4-yl)-2-(1-ethoxyiminopropyl)-3-hydroxy-2-cyclohexen-1- one.
USE: A selective herbicide useful especially as a herbicide for plowed land to control weeds such as oats, large crab-grass, cockspur-grass, etc.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula R2ONH2 in a solvent (e.g. methanol) in the presence of a base as necessary, at a temperature between 0°C and the boiling point of the solvent.
