Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL: A 2-halogeno-3-phenoxy-1,4-naphthoquinone derivative of formula I (wherein R1-R5 is each H, halogen, cyano, nitro, alkyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, halogenoalkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfonyl, alkylsulfinyl, halogenoalkylthio, aryloxy, arylthio, halogenoalkylsulfinyl or halogenoalkylsulfonyl; X is halogen; and with the exception of a compound wherein R1, R2, R4 and R5 each represent H and R3 represents H, Cl nitromethyl or methoxy and that wherein R1 and R5 each represent methyl and R2, R3 and R4 each represent H, and in both cases X represents halogen).

USE: Useful as a plant protection agent.

PREPARATION: A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III (wherein X1 is halogen) to obtain a compound of formula I.
