Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A-nitro-5-(substituted)benzohydroximic acid derivative shown by formula I (R and R1 are lower alkyl; R2 is H or lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: Methyl O-methylthiocarbonylmethyl 5-(2-chloro-4-trifluoromethyl phenoxyl-2-nitrobenzohydroximate.
USE: A herbicide showing the strongest herbicidal activity especially in growth period of weeds.
PREPARATION: For example, an O-carboxyalkyl-2-nitro-5-(substituted phenoxy) benzohydroximic acid ester shown by formula II is treated with thionyl chloride, etc., into an acid chloride and then reacted with a mercaptan shown by formula III, in an organic solvent in the presence of a base, etc., to give a compound shown by formula I.
