Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound, a herbicidally active specific compound borne on an inert carrier, enabling a wide range of undesirable plant species to be effectively controlled.
SOLUTION: This compound is a herbicidally active 2-(2-substituted benzoyl)-4-(substituted oxy, or substituted thio)-1,3-cyclohexanedione(salt) expressed pref. by formula I (X is O, S, sulfinyl, etc.; R is a halogen, 1-2C alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; R1-R6 are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, etc.; R7 and R8 are each H, a halogen, 1-4C alkyl, etc.), e.g. 2-(2-chloro-4-methylsulfonyl-benzoyl)-4- methylsulfonylcyclohexane-1,3-dione. This compound is borne on an inert carrier. This compound is obtained, for example, by reaction between a compound of formula II and a compound of formula III followed by rearrangement of the resultant enol ester intermediate and, if needed, conducting an oxidation.
