To obtain new subject compound comprising a specific 2- thiocytosinearabinoside-5'-phosphoric acid alkyl ester, capable of being obtained from nucleosides, having anticancer activities and useful for a pharmaceutical field such as an anticancer agent, a nucleic acid chemical field, etc.
The subject compound is a new 2-thiocytosinearabinoside-5'- phosphoric acid alkyl ester (salt) of formula I (R is a 6-24 saturated or unsaturated alkyl) has anticancer activities and is useful for a pharmaceutical field such as an anticancer agent, a nucleic acid chemical field, etc. The compound is obtained by reacting 2-thiocytsinearabinoside of formula II with phosphoryl trichloride to provide a compound of formula III, reacting the compound of formula III with a 6-24C saturated or unsaturated aliphatic alcohol and further hydrating the reaction product.
