Abstract:

2,2-Dimethyl-3-formylcyclopropanes of the formula in which R<1> and R<2> represent CN, COC1-4-alkyl, CO-halogen or COOC1-4-alkyl, process for their preparation, novel intermediates for carrying out this process and process for the preparation of these intermediates. The cyclopropanes of the formula I can be converted, for example, into permethric acid derivatives, which are employed as starting substances for pyrethroids, using methods known per se.
