NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I (R1 is H, a lower alkyl, an aryl, an alkenyl, a heteroaryl-a lower alkyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are each H, a lower alkyl, an aryl, a heteroaryl-lower alkyl, etc.; X and Y are each H, a halogen, OH, a lower alkyl, a lower alkoxy, nitro, etc.; (m) and (n) are each 1-3).
EXAMPLE: 2,3-Dihydro-N-(4-pyridinyl)-1H-indole-1-amine.
USE: An analgesic, anticonvulsant and memory enhancer.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula II is reduced to give the objective compound of formula I.
