Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new compound useful as a raw material for polyimides having excellent flexibility and moldability.
CONSTITUTION: 2,7-Bis (4-aminophenoxy) naphthalene of formula I. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a p-halogeno-nitro-benzene of formula II (X is halogen) with 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene in the presence of a basic substance such as an alkali metal hydroxide in an aprotic polar solvent such as DMF and subsequently reducing the obtained compound of formula III.
