Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: Compd. of formula I (R1 is a group of formula II; R2, R3NH2, NH-C2H4OH or a group of formula II).
USE: Crosslinking agents. They can be mixed as a solid and do not generate such volatile compd. as formaldehyde.
PROCESS: N-(2-hydroxyethyl)melamine of formula III (at least one of X1-X3 is -NH-C2H4OH and others are NH2) is reacted with formaldehyde at 40-100°C in an aqueous medium to obtain compd. of formula I.
