Abstract:
Novel 3-amino-2-alkenylimidates of the formula and the monohydrochloride and dihydrochloride thereof, wherein X is 0 or S, R is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl or haloalkyl, R<1> is H or alkyl, R<2> is H or alkyl, may be reacted with cyanamide or cyanogen chloride to yield novel cyanoimidates of the formula which in turn readily cyclize to pyrimidines of formula Both the pyrmidines and the cyanoimidates react with arylsulfonyl isocyanates to yield sulfonylurea herbicides.
