Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain the miniaturization and cost reduction for a 3-phase voltage regulator of phase control system, by absorbing a higher harmonic wave by the voltage regulator itself without using a transformer for correction of the waveform. CONSTITUTION:The angle of conduction of a thyristor switch Su' is increased to raise up the voltage of an output terminal 4u. At the same time, the angle of conduction of a thyristor switch Su is increased to lower the voltage of the terminal 4u. This control of voltage is identical with other phases. Therefore the control is possible in balancing the voltage at the load side among the three phases by controlling a phase controller 7. In such way, the magnetic flux caused by the higher harmonic wave is absorbed since it circulates the iron core of a closed magnetic path which is wound with the windings 3u, 3v and 3w which have a delta connection to each other. As a result, the waveform distortions emerging at output terminals 4u, 4v and 4w of a voltage control transformer 1 can be extremely reduced.
