Title:
304L STAINLESS STEEL FOR NUCLEAR FUEL REPROCESSING PLANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01215955
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve corrosion resistance without using expensive raw materials of high quality by specifying respective contents of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, and N.

CONSTITUTION: A 304L stainless steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, ≤0.020% C, 0.1W1.00% Si, ≤2.00% Mn, 11.0W13.0% Ni, 19.0W20.0% Cr, 0.015W0.045% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. This stainless steel is developed for nuclear fuel reprocessing plants and corrosion resistance can be improved without using particular refining techniques. Moreover, this stainless steel is free from difficulty in welding unlike high-Si steels, and further, since the lower limit of N content is set up, required yield strength and tensile strength can be obtained.
